The Opportunity

CITIC Pacific Mining is currently looking for a Marine Technical Trainer for a site based role at our Cape Preston operation, on a 9/5 FIFO roster from Perth. This is a great opportunity to join our Training team and be an integral part of the Sino Iron Project.

The Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent – Technical Training, this role is responsible for providing technical training, advisory services and programmes to the Port and Marine Department ensuring the continuous development of competencies and compliances required to achieve individual, team and organisational and operational objectives. You may also be required to conduct VOC on a range of High Risk Ticketed machinery and skills.

The Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have a Certificate IV TAE or equivalent, a strong knowledge of Marine and Port operations, including: Reclaimers, Conveyors, Control Room systems, Barge Loading and Onshore & Offshore Mooring operations. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential.

Candidates possessing bilingual capabilities and High Risk licences will be looked upon favourably.  

  • A current Manual WA drivers licence is essential, HR/HC preferred
  • STCW qualified and MSIC card is essential
  • A copy of all current qualifications / licences must be provided at the time of interview.
