The opportunity

We’re seeking a driven Communications Coordinator to join our small Corporate Affairs team. This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis, working out of our Perth Corporate Office in the CBD.

This role supports the development of positive relationships between CITIC Pacific Mining and internal and external stakeholders, through effective communications and engagement activities.

You will assist in content creation for digital communication channels and management of platforms including the company’s internal and external website. This will include overseeing department administrative duties, including procurement and liaison with external service providers and digital asset management. You will also assist in the preparation of corporate reporting materials to our overseas parent company.

Our role requires a team player seeking to take the next step in their corporate communications career. We’re looking for someone who uses their initiative and skillset to continuously improve the company’s communications functions and stakeholder engagement activities.


In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Protecting and enhancing CITIC Pacific Mining’s reputation and grow the company’s brand, through provision of timely and appropriate communication activities.
  • Assisting in the writing of weekly project news, business alerts and notices, media monitoring reports and material for digital platforms.
  • Creating digital content (audio-visual) for internal and external communication channels.
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of company events (internal and external).
  • Be the guardian of CPM’s brand and style guide.
  • Timely procurement, payment and management of external consultants, utilising the company’s SAP system.
  • Support for crisis communication activities.
  • Assistance in corporate reporting requirements to our parent company.
  • Understanding of multicultural working environments and (depending on language skills) assistance with translation of company documents and communications – desirable only.
  • Developing trusted working relationships across the organisation.
  • Occasional air travel and overnight stays at site (Sino Iron, south-west of Karratha).
  • Other tasks as identified by the Head of Corporate Affairs.


To be successful in the role the following skills, knowledge and experience is required:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant Discipline (e.g. Communications, Marketing/ PR).
  • Understanding of modern communication platforms, including social media, and graphic design/video production and editing principles.
  • Excellent plain-English writing skills essential. Chinese language (written) translation ability highly desirable (not essential).
  • Willingness to take on occasional travel to site for events.
  • Video/photography and graphic design knowledge/experience.
  • Experience in the procurement, payment and management of suppliers.
  • A current WA Manual Drivers licence is an essential requirement.
