CITIC Pacific Mining has contracted Cape Preston Port Company (CPPC) a wholly owned group company to operate the port and marine ore delivery supply chain.

The Opportunity

Cape Preston Port Company is currently seeking an experienced Electrical & Control Engineer on a permanent full time basis, 9/5 FIFO roster from Perth.

The Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Senior Electrical & Control Engineer, this role requires an experienced Electrical/Control engineer to assist in the operation, maintenance and development of our Plant Control System with a focus on plant throughput and reliability.

The Requirements

In order to be successful in this role, you need significant fixed plant experience, including conveyor systems, balanced machines and associated control systems. Your sound technical skills must be coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, critical to building and maintaining constructive relationships on site.

You will possess specific knowledge of control systems elements (field devices, I/O, controllers, SCADA etc.) and will have proven fault-finding and diagnostic abilities. It is essential to have programming and configuration experience of Allen Bradley PLC and I/O systems as well as thorough knowledge of CitectSCADA.

You will demonstrate understanding of relevant codes of practice, standards, guidelines and knowledge specifically on equipment such as; balanced machines, conveyor systems, variable speed drives; motor protection relay, instrumentation etc.

It would be beneficial if you possess experiential knowledge of functional safety, continuous improvement methodologies, RCA/FMEA, maintenance strategy development, whole of life modelling and data analytics. Project management experience and proficiency with SAP would be highly regarded.

  • A current WA Manual Drivers Licence is essential.
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic) accredited by Engineers Australia, alternatively Bachelor of Technology or Diploma of Technology (Electrical)
  • At least 3 years relevant post graduate experience working on materials handling plant control and automation systems, ideally within the mining sector or a related industry
  • Ability to obtain a MSIC
  • A copy of all current qualifications / licences must be provided at the time of interview.
