The Opportunity

CITIC Pacific Mining is seeking an experienced GIS Specialist to join the Mining Division based in our Perth office.

Reporting to the Principal – GIS Specialist, in this role you will focus on the GIS for mapping and data management requests to provide Cartographic services to core business units within CITIC Pacific Mining within appropriate timeframes.

Ability and freedom to build GIS skills using the best tools in the business.

 

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Spatial data management within CITIC GIS including current release of Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Mobile Mapping, and multiuser geodatabase applications (ArcSDE). Safe Software FME Desktop (Form) and Server (Flow).
  • Map production and Project data storage
  • Generation and preparation of all maps, plans and figures for presentations.
  • In consultation with other team members develop GIS related presentations and reports for both external and internal purposes
  • Ensure allocated GIS tasks are accomplished in time frames as specified.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications or Diploma in the Spatial Sciences or equivalent industry experience
  • A minimum of 2 years GIS experience, preferably within the Mining/Resources sector
  • Beneficial to have knowledge of Mining regulatory requirements is highly beneficial.
  • Experience using Esri ArcGIS Pro and Extensions, ArcGIS Enterprise (v10.9.1 and above), Microsoft Windows 10 and MS Office Apps.
  • Working knowledge of current release SQL related to ArcSDE and Catalog.
  • High level knowledge of cartographic principals and presentation standards.
  • A current WA Manual Drivers licence is an essential requirement.
