CITIC Pacific Mining is seeking an experienced Shutdown Permit Officer to join our Processing team on a permanent 8/6 roster, FIFO ex Perth.

Reporting to the Permit Supervisor, this role is responsible for planning, preparing and managing the Permit to Work (PTW) system before and during plant shutdowns or outages.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Ensure all PTW procedures and standards are applied in compliance with company and legislative safety requirements
  • Coordinate with Shutdown Planners, Process Operations, Maintenance, Commissioning, and Construction to proactively identify and resolve shutdown PTW requirements
  • Design and implement equipment isolations as necessary, ensuring safety and operational continuity
  • Coach and support employees and contractors in effective PTW system application
  • Conduct audits, workplace inspections, and hazard controls to ensure ongoing compliance and safety
  • Maintain and update PTW databases, including Confined Space Entry (CSE), Isolation Checklists (ICL), and Authorised Persons records

To be successful in the role you must have the following skills/experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in PTW systems
  • In-depth understanding of Permit to Work systems and isolation practices
  • Proficient in electrical, mechanical, and processing equipment – able to interpret P&IDs
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with SAP functions in a maintenance environment
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks
  • A current Drivers licence
