CITIC Pacific Mining is seeking an experienced Senior GIS Specialist to join the Mining Division based in our Perth office.

Reporting to the Principal GIS Specialist, in this role you will be part of a small team, working autonomously to deliver business focussed outcomes. The role will continue to embed GIS capability across our business units such as environment, port operations, heritage, hydrology and assets teams. This is a broad reaching role that encompasses the full ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online and FME Stack, delivering up to date, accurate and near real time solutions that are focussed on a self-serve delivery model via our web-based ArcGIS Enterprise.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Delivery of end of year reporting such as Mining Rehabilitation Fund (MRF), Coastal Stability Monitoring and Rehabilitation.
• Maintain our license to operate applications such the Ground Disturbance Approvals
• Lead system maintenance activities such as upgrades, performance monitoring, patching and problem solving.
• Work with our clients to translate business requirements into deliverables that meet and exceed expectations to deliver continuous improvement.
• Act as a subject matter expert to deliver insights for clients using spatial technologies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with our clients to anticipate their requirements.
• Manage the monthly updates to our Imagery and LIDAR 3D deliverables.
• Administration of the CITIC GIS including current release of ArcGIS Enterprise, Esri ArcGIS Pro applications, FME Flow, FME Form, Survey 123, Field Maps, ArcGIS Online, Experience Builder and SQL Server.
• GIS Administration tasks including but not limited to managing, maintaining, advice and support on GIS technologies including software and analysis within required timeframes.
• Assess and improve spatial data management policies and processes as required in conjunction with internal and external clients.
• Develop and promote high quality spatial products and skills to align with business needs.
• Develop GIS related presentations for internal and external clients as required.
• Provide GIS Training and direction to GIS users (staff and clients) as requested.
• Assist in the further development of GIS proposals and strategic plans including data inventories, needs assessments and research.
• Knowledge of field data collection techniques and capable of participation in field work.
• Sound knowledge, understanding and demonstration of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) & Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
• Working understanding of relevant regulations adhering to the mining industry.

To be successful in the role you will have:

• Relevant Tertiary qualifications or Diploma in the Spatial Sciences or equivalent industry experience
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Spatial industry, preferably within the Mining/Resources sector
• Advanced skills in the Esri ArcGIS and Safe Software products
• Administration of spatial database systems - Microsoft SQL
