The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced purchasing professional to join our Perth based Commercial Services / Procurement Department. Drawing on your strong Procure to Pay and SAP knowledge, you will manage the day-to-day purchasing activities of goods and services for Sino Iron, Australia's largest magnetite operation, supported by a large, experienced Commercial team with mature systems and established processes.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, based at St Georges Terrace in the Perth CBD, reporting to the Procurement Lead. You will be an experienced purchasing professional who takes pride in service, accuracy and follow-through, and who shares a commitment to safe and responsible work environment.
In this role you’ll be responsible for but not limited too;
- Provide a dedicated, responsive purchasing service to internal stakeholders across operational and project requirements, keeping them informed from order to delivery
- Utilise SAP to engage and commit suppliers to meet stakeholder deliverables, securing the best outcome across price, quality and delivery
- Build productive and communicative supplier relationships that support both daily and planned deliverables, keeping goods and services arriving on time, on spec
- Stay ahead of delivery schedules, expediting orders and resolving discrepancies to support stakeholder timelines
- Issue and maintain accurate purchasing data in SAP through purchase order creation, supporting clean reporting and a reliable Procure to Pay process
- Champion CPM's Commercial and Procure to Pay processes, helping stakeholders get it right first time
To be successful in the role you will have the following skills and experience;
- Demonstrated experience in a high-volume purchasing role, ideally within mining, resources or heavy vehicle/plant industries
- Strong working knowledge of SAP transactional purchasing functions and end-to-end Procure to Pay processes
- Proven supplier engagement skills, including quoting, expediting and discrepancy resolution, with the commercial curiosity to challenge price, lead time and terms
- Well organised and able to manage a busy portfolio of competing priorities without letting accuracy slip
- Clear, professional communication and the ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels, working collaboratively within a large team
- Sound commercial judgement in balancing price, quality and delivery under time pressure
- Certificate, diploma or tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain, business, finance or a related field will be highly regarded.
- A mechanical background or experience with component repair and maintenance programs will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to the Asia Pacific supply market will be highly regarded.
