The Opportunity

CITIC Pacific Mining is seeking experienced Line Boring Specialist to join our fabrication team on a permanent 2/1 roster, FIFO ex Perth.

Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, this role is responsible for Line boring and bore welding of HME and fixed plant equipment.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

• Setting up and operates boring machines to bore, drill, facing, grooving workpieces according to specifications.
• Undertaking welding repairs when and where required using line boring requirements, apply knowledge of line boring procedures and machining methods.
• Reading blueprint or job order for specifications, such as hole locations and dimensions, and tooling instructions, such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, and cutting tools to be used.
• Observing machine operation and inspect machining equipment while operating on workpiece to verify conformance to specifications, using instruments, such as calipers, and micrometers.
• Ensuring equipment availability and performance is optimized by handling all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Successful applicant will have:

• Trade Certificate – Mechanical fitter/Boilermaker
• 3-5 years’ experience in mining or heavy industry environment
• Current Western Australian HR Driver’s Licence
• High Risk Licence
• An understanding of Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental procedure
