The Opportunity

Cape Preston Port Company (CPPC) is seeking an experienced Technical Trainer – Marine to join our Port Maintenance team on a permanent 8/6 FIFO roster ex Perth.

Reporting to the Superintendent – Port Training, you will deliver internal training programs covering fixed plant, mobile equipment, and marine operations, as well as Nationally Recognised Units of Competency through auspice arrangements. The role involves coordinating field training and assessments with key stakeholders across CPPC.

You will provide training in Line Handling & Mooring Operations, Deck Machinery, Conveyor Systems, Control Room operations, Area Inductions, and conduct Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments on a range of High-Risk Work Licensed (HRWL) machinery and skills.

Successful applicant will have:

  • Certificate IV TAE or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Marine and/or Port operations
  • High Risk Work Licence – DG, WP, CN, RB
  • Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry & Gas Test Atmospheres
  • Hold or can obtain MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card)
