The opportunity:

CITIC Pacific Mining is currently looking for a Field Fitter to join our HME (Heavy Mining Equipment) field team in a job share position based in Cape Preston.

The Purpose of the role:

The Field Fitter is responsible for the repair, maintenance, servicing and inspection of the mobile truck and ancillary fleet. The role requires excellent diagnostic capability across mechanical, hydraulic and low-voltage electrical systems, along with the ability to liaise effectively with operators, contractors and site personnel to resolve technical issues and maintain equipment reliability.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

• Carry out field maintenance (breakdowns), inspections, servicing and repairs on mobile equipment using qualified trade skills, tools and testing equipment within agreed timeframes.
• Perform critical repair tasks including fault finding on low-voltage electrical, hydraulic and Pneumatic systems on mobile equipment.
• Conduct technical inspections, fault identification and SAP notifications.
• Source parts using appropriate manuals, technical publications and correct ordering procedures.
• Maintain high quality of workmanship and standards on work carried out.
• Complete all required documentation including timesheets, work orders and reports accurately and on time.
• Provide technical information and guidance to operations personnel and maintenance staff.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with CPM policies and procedures
• Environmental and Aboriginal Heritage compliance to policies and procedures

Qualifications / Certificates

Mandatory:

• Certified Heavy duty tradesperson
• Extensive Mining experience
• Class ‘HR’ motor vehicle licence or equivalent
• Computing Skills (Technical and diagnostic software)
• Communication skills

Desirable:

• • Work Safe License EWP, LF, CN and safe working at heights
  • ARTIC accredited for air conditioning
• First aid certificate
