The Opportunity

CITIC Pacific Mining is looking for an experienced and driven Director - Processing for our Cape Preston site, on a fly-in/fly-out basis.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this executive leadership role is accountable for the safe, sustainable, and efficient operation of Concentrator Lines 1–6, driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and long-term business performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing strategic and technical leadership to optimise plant performance, resolve operational challenges, and deliver innovative processing solutions across Concentrator Lines 1–6.
• Leading the Processing function, including operational strategy, performance outcomes, maintenance effectiveness, and alignment with broader business objectives.
• Driving process optimisation, reliability improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost efficiency initiatives across the operation.
• Providing governance and oversight for processing and engineering projects, including stakeholder engagement, contractor management, and technical delivery.
• Leading risk management and operational assurance activities to support safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operations.
• Overseeing the evaluation and implementation of engineering and technical solutions to ensure operational effectiveness and sustainable outcomes.
• Building and leading a high-performing, inclusive culture through strong leadership, capability development, collaboration, and accountability.

This is a critical leadership opportunity for a strategic processing executive with a strong track record in large-scale mining or mineral processing operations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Over 10 years’ experience in magnetite iron ore processing, currently operating at General Manager level or equivalent.
• Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related discipline.
• Proven leadership capability with the ability to build high-performing teams and drive operational outcomes.
• Strong technical expertise in continuous magnetite processing operations, including process optimisation and implementation of new technologies and equipment.
• Experience leading cross-cultural teams within Australia’s safety and regulatory environment while delivering production, cost, and quality targets.
• Strong commercial acumen across contract management, procurement, and supply chain risk management.
• Extensive operational, technical, and project management experience within iron ore or non-ferrous processing operations.
• Strong cross-cultural communication and stakeholder engagement capability, with an understanding of CPM and CITIC Group operating environments.
• Strategic mindset with a strong focus on operational excellence and stakeholder outcomes.
• Bilingual Mandarin and English language capability.
