CITIC Pacific Mining is the developer and operator of the Sino Iron project, a world class magnetite processing operation at Cape Preston, 100km south west of Karratha in Western Australia. An industrial megaproject, Sino Iron is already the largest magnetite mining, processing and export operation in Australia, shipping a premium concentrate product to overseas steel mills. Dedicated infrastructure includes the concentrator area, port facilities, a combined-cycle gas-fired power station, desalination plant and 30km slurry pipeline. CITIC Pacific Mining requires a Business Intelligence Lead to join our Perth office. If you have the ability to build and develop the capability, as well as shape, drive and “sell” Business Intelligence initiatives to the business, then this could be the role for you. Your passion to create, manage and improve business intelligence strategies coupled with your ability to communicate complex analysis in a clear, concise and actionable manner, will ultimately enable your internal customers to work as a self-service capability.
The Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Manager Information Management Services you will work with internal business units to understand business processes and their information needs for structured data, and translate this into strategic, tactical and operational plans. You will then design, deliver and implement and support the business intelligence solutions, providing hands on expertise as required. In order to deliver these services we require candidates who have the ability to manipulate and analyse complex, high volume data and metadata from a variety of sources; develop models and present information through visualisations as well as identify opportunities to exploit BI solutions to support existing business requirements.
We are seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals with 5 to 10 years’ experience in a data analytics science environment to actively promote the value of business intelligence across the business and to drive improvement initiatives across operations. You will possess the following:
- Solid experience with SAP R/3 or SAP net weaver platform is essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
- Expert knowledge of analysis tools including SQL Server, data warehouse architectures & tools (SAP, Business Objects BI, SAP Data Services, HANA, IBM Cognos, and Xcelsius Dashboards).
- Strong project planning, presentation and quality management skills are essential.
